One Piece: Netflix’s Live-Action Season 2 is on Track
The One Piece live-action Season 2 is well underway, and fans can rejoice as Netflix officially announced that filming has wrapped up. This marks a crucial step toward bringing the beloved Straw Hat Pirates back to screens worldwide.
A Promising Production Update
Two years after its unexpected success, Netflix’s One Piece live-action Season 2 is shaping up to be a massive event. The streaming giant shared a commemorative post featuring the core cast—Taz Skylar (Sanji), Mackenyu (Zoro), Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Emily Rudd (Nami), and Jacob Gibson (Usopp)—sporting brand-new costumes in an elaborate set. While an exact release date remains unconfirmed, Netflix’s message strongly hints at an imminent premiere.
“Straw Hats, our course is set! Season 2 production is officially complete, and the Grand Line awaits. Are you ready for the journey?”
However, One Piece’s absence from Netflix’s 2025 highlights trailer has left some fans wondering if a delay is in the works. Given that filming only started seven months ago, it’s likely the series will launch in late 2025.
What’s Next for Season 2?
Season 2 will cover events from the end of East Blue to the start of Alabasta, ensuring high-stakes action and rich storytelling. Major cast additions include Charithra Chandran as Vivi Nefertari, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, and Rigo Sanchez as Monkey D. Dragon.
With extensive CGI work required for Chopper, post-production efforts will be complex and time-consuming. Meanwhile, Netflix is also working on a One Piece anime remake in collaboration with Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Spy x Family).
