Henry Cavill won’t be unemployed for long

Henry Cavill already has a new project in the works, and once again he’s going to live up to his reputation as a geek.

The bad news is linked to Henry Cavill. Whoever does not hide his passion for fantasy could soon be on the poster for an adaptation of the Warhammer miniatures game 40,000 or 40K for friends. Sources close to the matter announce that discussions with the company Game Workshop, which produces the games, are on track. Amazon was not the only platform on the file but obviously succeeded in convincing the firm that its universe would be in good hands for this project.

For now, no screenwriter or director is officially involved. History should nevertheless plunge us 40,000 years into the future when humanity has stopped evolving. The games feature endless wars between aliens, gods and beings with magical powers. After The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Prime Video could well hold its new event series.

Even more geeky

It’s no secret that Henry Cavill is a geek. The actor has proven this on several occasions, such as when he mounted his PC on video on Instagram. He also has a small weakness for fantasy, and attached great importance to paying homage to Geralt de Riv, whom he had adored in video games, but also in novels.

His name is also circulating regarding another video game adaptation. For several months, it has been rumored that Amazon is about to get its hands on the adaptation rights to Mass Effect. If nothing has been formalized yet, the noises of the hallway are numerous. Henry Cavill has nevertheless more than once expressed his desire to join the adventure if this adaptation were to see the light of day. Again, he’s a huge fan.

It should also be noted that he is expected to obtain the main role in a reboot of Highlander. Despite his departures – from DC and The Witcher licenses – the actor will not stay away from our screens for very long. This is all the more true since he will soon be starring in a spy film directed by Matthew Vaughn and called Argylle. It should land soon on Apple TV+.
