Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio could well pay a very big cast
Slowly but surely, the Pinocchio from Guillermo del Toro comes to life …
If the live remake of the Disney tale Pinocchio begins to take on beautiful colors thanks to the arrival of Robert Zemeckis at the helm, this is nothing compared to what Guillermo del Toro intends to do with the original puppet. It took ten years and the four Oscars for his Pinocchio project to finally move forward. Thanks to Netflix and since the end of 2018, it is well launched and it regularly treats the press and the networks with its good news.
So far these have been very conceptual. More in keeping with the tone and atmosphere of the film, he announced in December 2018 that he would propel his story into Mussolini’s Italy and admitted that he was not designing a film for the whole family (unlike Disney).
In addition to these choices reminiscent of his Pan Labyrinth, the director also provoked the joy of a lot of people last August by revealing to rely on the aesthetics of the boards of Gray Grimly. As well as announcing that the speech of old adaptations, such as that of Roy Collodi, would be completely reversed and that he would not want to repress or condemn Pinocchio’s disobedience.
Extensive program. Above all, a program that makes you want more and more as it comes alive. If one believes the columns of The Playlist (relaying the Polish media Na Ekranie), Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro would indeed have found some of his voices.
Actor David Bradley, known for his roles as Walder Frey in Game of Thrones or Filch in Harry Potter, is said to have revealed his voice to the puppet’s father, Geppetto. At his side, could be heard Ron Perlman (his favorite actor of Hellboy, soon in his Nightmare Alley), Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton or Ewan McGregor.
Obviously, none of this has been officially announced by Netflix and it will be necessary to wait for the platform to confirm these allegations to put them in the affirmative.
